Death is inevitable as everyone will face their end at some point. Death is not without its counterpoint: Life. Even though there’s an end to everything, there was a beginning to the journey. $tokes uses “Against The Rest, Vol. 2” to speak on this topic. The project starts with “In It,” featuring BG Rando, where the lyricism talks about those who have died around them and how they still think of them. They shout out their family as they know we are all on borrowed time. If all you do is worry about death, you’ll miss out on life. So what can you do in this life? Lace-up your “All White Forces” to run your city. Setting goals and people around you to accomplish them allows you to march faster to success. If they switch up on you, cut them out, as life’s too short for the fakes. Once you take over your city, take a moment and enjoy it by driving around bumping “Kick Shit”! The bass hits and some great lyricism complements this instrumental. When the fakes show their true colors, “Kick Shit” out of your circle to keep it small and focused. It’s almost impossible to do anything extraordinary and not make mistakes. Everyone makes them. “Tell Me Your Sorry” has a melodic hook and is attention-grabbing. $tokes realizes that it’s not a race against everyone; it’s about going against yourself. Once you know that, you’re free to start a “Wild Living” lifestyle. $tokes thinks about everything he wants to get in life: money, girls, cars. Life can go sideways in seconds, so he recognizes the best way to live is in the moment. In the end, it’s not about being against the rest of humanity because you are only against your past self to keep improving your life. Message $tokes on social media to let him know what you thought of “Against The Rest, Vol 2”!
