B Plus released his debut album “The Arrival,” and it’s an A+! This album is jam-packed with witty bars, nuance messaging in his lyrics, and vulgar lyricism! The cover art is a baby picture of B Plus, and it’s fitting as he talks a lot about his past and how he’s changing his old ways for his new family. That transformation shows on the title track “The Arrival” and “Livin’ Life.” It’s great to see that when life takes away initial plans, B Plus can still roll with the punches to be a family man and rapper. He also talks about his struggles over the years, like drinking, on “Ruthless.” While he makes the song an upbeat anthem, the lyrics give insight into his habit of drinking everyday right when he wakes up. B Plus is also not shy to talk about his views on the world and those who are also making hiphop music. Across the whole album, you can hear this, but it shows on tracks “Nit Wit” and “B.D.R.B.” Like everyone else in today’s climate, he’s worried about bringing kids into this world. He talks about the struggles his family had faced already on “Long Talks andLate Night Cruises,” the most emotional track on this album. Those following B Plus may have heard about B Minus: the anonymous memer who has latched onto his music by making parody remixes of earlier tracks and releasing them online. B Minus has been solidified in this album in a bar on “Steuben St.” The album has many little details baked into it, which gives it great replay value. Each time you listen will peel back a new layer you didn’t hear before! Message B Plus on social media to tell him what you thought about “The Arrival.”
