A stagnant life comes with no risks but doesn’t feel that rewarding. When your world flips upside down and you have to figure out your direction again, it can be for the better, even if the “Changes” seem overwhelming. “Changes” has 15 tracks with a 40-minute runtime, and there is a lot to dissect. “Intro” sets the tone as comfortable and relaxed. While JD is in this state of mind, he realizes time is ticking, and if he wants to achieve his goal of making it big, IT’S GO TIME! The vibe switch into “Everybody” picks up the pace and almost embodies all of his hustle in audio form. Like a king making a decree to his people, JD is announcing that you can’t sit in the castle when it’s complete if you missed out on construction. This album has fast tracks like “07-80-08” which show the skill he is unlocking in rap, and “Off The Dome,” a stitch of freestyles together to show inside JD’s mind. His sound has a lot of versatility, so there is a bit of everything for everyone. He slows down slightly on tracks “Movin'” and “Changes.” Both come from his heart and reference the changes and moves in his life that keep his momentum forward. While JD could have had no features on this album and still killed it, he picked a few that were a part of his journey: PriZm, Submuzik Boss, Ace Wild, and his crew in the studio. JD’s a film fan, and that shows in his music. His song “The Town” was inspired by the movie from 2010 with the same name. Childhood film even plays into the last track, “TTFN [Ta-Ta For Now].” You can hear the amount of time and soul that JD put into this project. From start to finish, it’s a piece of JD’s life.
