What year did you start your music journey? Who or what inspired you?
I started making music in 2017. That year was probably the most important year of my life, being arguably the worst with the most amazing to come out of it. On my 19th birthday, I ended up going to the emergency room after consuming way too much alcohol and made some pretty destructive choices that night. I had just dropped out of college; I had absolutely no direction in life until music found me in the form of my producer Dre Blessed. From that moment, I knew that this would be my passion and give me purpose in life.
Can you describe your creative process of creating music? Do you write the hook first? Where do you find inspiration for your lyrics?
When I’m locked into a creative mode, the first thing I’m doing is focusing on production. Since I produce most of my own material, I really try to lay out the beat in a way that feels best for me. I feel like it helps my brain put words to paper when a solid structure is in place. Sometimes, the hook comes first, while other times, the flow is rattling around my skull, so the verses come first. It really just depends on what I’m feeling!
If this is someone’s FIRST introduction to you as an artist, how would you describe your music?
I’d describe my music to a first-time listener as being full of energy, having a dark atmosphere, as well as being very hip-hop – lyrically driven. Things have changed dramatically from a few years ago, and I feel my focus on the writing has helped me improve and allowed me to give a better answer to this question.
Lately, what has been your motivation to keep making music?
My motivation to keep making music is the sole reason that this art form saved me from myself in many ways. I feel like the more opportunities present themselves, the more I have to be able to lock in and execute. The artists that we see in headlines today are where they are because of that, and I want to solidify myself amongst them.
What genre of music would you create if you didn’t create HipHop/Rap music?
I honestly believe I would be making all sorts of music if it wasn’t mainly hip-hop/rap. I think nu-metal would be up there in the front running for sure. I feel like I get a lot of inspiration from that genre.
If you were gifted one free feature from any artist currently alive, who would you want to collaborate on a track with?
There isn’t a doubt in my mind this would be Tech N9ne. To be honest, I really believe one day I will get the chance to make this happen, and it’s one of those bucket list things I constantly think about.
If you could point the reader to one of your songs to listen to after reading this interview, what song would you direct them to?
I would have to point them to my song, my first release of 2025, titled “Ready Or Not.” I feel like it gives a lot of who I am as an artist, a person, and how I view the world.
