Some artists put a lot of thought into their artist name; some go with the first one that comes to mind. Can you tell the reader how did you land on yours?
After brainstorming some ideas, Créme asked, “Hey, what do you think about the name Cookies & Créme?” And Cookies said, “I hate that I love it.”
If this is someone’s FIRST introduction to you as an artist, how would you describe your music?
We are as much ourselves as we could possibly be, whether it’s in our music or in our everyday lives.
What year did you start your music journey? Who or what inspired you?
We put our first song out together in 2018, but we had both individually been making music for years prior to that.
Did you have a goal when starting music? Is it the same goal you have today?
We both just started doing it for the love of music and nothing’s changed since then. Sure, we wouldn’t complain if it came with some loot or fame but that’s never been the goal for us.
Thinking back to your youth, what kind of music did you hear playing around you? And how do you think these artists impacted the music you create?
We both listened to similar styles but mostly different artists. If you listen to our music, you can clearly hear the different styles, but they blend well together, and that’s a big part of why I think we make such a good team.
Who are your top 3 artists in any order, in any genre?
Combining our favorites, I think our top 3 artists would be Prof, Tech N9ne, and Mac Miller.
If you could point the reader to one of your songs to listen to after reading this interview, what song would you direct them to?
If we could point the reader in the direction of only one of our songs to best show them what we’re all about, I think the best option at the moment would be “lil diffrnt” from our EP titled Dbl Stuft.
