Some artists put a lot of thought into their artist name; some go with the first one that comes to mind. Can you tell the reader how you landed on yours?
The meaning behind P.c Rexx is I’ve always had an ambition to get money, hence “Pc” which stands for Paper chasin, and I got a little creative with the Rexx. I’ve always been more of an aggressive competitor like T-Rex, short and aggressive, so that’s where the name came from.
If this is someone’s FIRST introduction to you as an artist, how would you describe your music?
My music is a mix of life experiences, raw emotions, & overall just battles I’ve overcome.
What year did you start your music journey? Who or what inspired you?
I originally started off just writing and playing around with beats back in school, and it wasn’t till the end of 2023 that I started coming out on platforms and being open with my music. What inspired me was the people around me. They would tell me I had hidden talent, real potential that I was sitting on, and it really made me open my eyes and listen to the stuff I had at the time. Since then, I just keep going.
Did you have a goal when starting music? Is it the same goal you have today?
Originally, my goal was to get an album/EP out, and after I accomplished that, it was to get on stage and do a performance. I just took minor achievable goals one step at a time, and right now, I’m working on getting out-of-state performances for my next goal.
Thinking back to your youth, what kind of music did you hear playing around you? And how do you think these artists impacted the music you create?
I listened to a lot of Eminem. My mom always listened to him and my brothers and I would always rap his verses lol. In my teenage years, I was into Lil Uzi and Durk. I still listen to them all, and I feel like I have a style mixed with Durk and Eminem in a way, but that’s just me.
Who are your top 3 artists in any order, in any genre?
I listen to a lot of music lol, but top three are Lil Durk, Rod Wave, and Chicken P.
Lately, what has been your motivation to keep making music?
My family. They have always pushed me to do better, focus on my goals, and continue chasing my dreams. They have been a huge support system for me throughout this journey so far, and I’m truly thankful for it.
