If this is someone’s FIRST introduction to you as an artist, how would you describe your music?
I make music that motivates the listener and puts them in a good mood. I’m a guy who works hard, has fun, and wants to exceed my goals, and I try my best to portray that through my songs. I hope that anyone listening gets a mood boost and feels like they can accomplish anything when they turn a Vinny Cincotta song on.
What year did you start your music journey? Who or what inspired you?
I dropped my first song in 2015 on a $20 mic from Walmart. It was terrible, but I honestly thought it was the coolest thing that I could record myself and put it out into the world. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Did you have a goal when starting music? Is it the same goal you have today?
My first goal was to make something that I was really proud of. These days, my goals have grown quite a bit. I’m so close to making this a full-time thing, and that’s really the main goal now.
Can you describe your creative process of creating music? Do you write the hook first? Where do you find inspiration for your lyrics?
I feel like my creative process is a lot different than others. I’m a guy that once I hear a beat that I like, I’ll just write the whole song then and there. It always comes out naturally. I rarely ever change anything from the first time that I write it. I feel like there’s something really pure about that. A lot of times, as artists, I feel like we overthink things and overcomplicate them, so I try my best not to do that with my writing while still making it something that I’m proud of.
Do you have any passions or hobbies outside of music?
Working out, basketball, yoga, going to the beach. I’m big on fitness and keeping my mind and body sharp. This year, I’m looking to compete in my first triathlon.
Do you have any advice you wish you could share with yourself when you first started your music career?
It’ll take a lot longer than you think. You will fail a lot, and that’s okay. Confidence in yourself is the most important thing, people can feel that.
If you could point the reader to one of your songs to listen to after reading this interview, what song would you direct them to?
My song “Friday Night.” I think it’s my best song. It perfectly captures the type of guy I am and who I am as an artist.
