Are you ready for “The Fall” of a young man held up by the ropes of love, only to be cut loose? Young Wave’s debut project, “The Fall,” starts with “The Rise,” an instrumental representing what I would best assume to be him entering a stage of confidence and contentment. The album starts progressing through the first half as he feels confident in himself and his relationship in songs like “Bounce Back” and “Blessings,” but it all seems too good to be true. As you reach the halfway point in the album, the mood starts to shift towards losing trust in love and a loss of the contentment he held, with songs like “Way Too Deep” and “Astral” talking about how his girl no longer trusts him and is overthinking minor things. After reaching “U Are (Interlude),” into the later half of the project, you can hear Young Wave starting “The Fall” into heartbreak, trust issues, and addiction, starting with “Echoes.” He starts to get very real with himself, contemplating whether life is worth the pain and hardship of searching for your happiness with the songs “Forever” and “The Fall.” Overall this album is a beautiful and sad representation of a young man’s first interaction with heartbreak and was captured perfectly by Young Wave. Make sure to go check out “The Fall” on all streaming platforms and let Young Wave know what you think about it!
