When we think of Icons, we usually list off athletic stars that come to mind: Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, and Randy Moss. Being an Icon in a sport signifies that you’re in peak performance, and rap is no different!
Big Savo and Ty Rello stepped to the mic going back and forth on the tracks to feel more like a rap duo than six tracks with features. The mission was simple, show the world why they deserve to have “Icon Status” in the rap game. They state the claim that they are not only doing this, but they do it best! Their flow and lyrical skills showcase in “For Myself” and “Randy Moss.” There are sport-references sprinkled all over this project, and it makes sense in songs like “All About Winning.” The hurdles they face don’t stop them due to their dedication to the craft. Even the best who are in the “HOF like Jordan” have lost at some time in their career. It’s about how you pick yourself back up and keep going to make yourself an “Icon.” Progress stacks day to day and year to year, both Savo and Rello have been making moves to become professionals in their craft.
