From dropping two albums in one year, doing three concerts in a single weekend, and everything else that goes into breaking ground in this competitive industry, “Hustle Never Sleeps” is more than an album title to JDMakesMusic. It is a motto for his life. The posture of this album is confident and has many influences, from conversations between some of the greats to people in his community that have supported or crossed him. The album has some heavy-hitting features from PriZm, Ace Wild, DJ 6ix 9ine, and Young Sage. Each artist has a close connection to JD and adds a little flavor to their respective tracks. As the album first spins up, the countdown signifies the beginning of the listener’s experience. Most tracks have that signature raw, gritty, adrenalin-pumping lyrics that many of JDs fans have come to love. “Always Tired,” “I’m Not Sorry,” and “Well Equipped” have ear-rattling bass and fast-paced tempo with lyrics that recap how much work has been put in this past year. “Don’t Look Back” with Young Sage stands out on the album as JD explores different melodic styles as he reassures himself he’s on the right path. While JD may be experimenting with his artistic style, he still aims to provide his fans with what they want and made “Stayin High.” The instrumental has a whole vibe paired with PriZm’s hook will pull in anyone’s attention. JD (Juvenile Delinquent) gives us a view into his past and how he had run-ins with police, further explaining his alias JDMakesMusic. There are two talking segments in this project, one from Joe Rogan and Mike Tyson having a conversation on the JRE Podcast and the other from the viral Giannis Antetokounmpo clip circulating social media. Each clip gives a little insight into JD and what makes up his hard work, take-no-shit mindset.
