On the day of his debut interview with CWHipHop, Exclu$ive released his EP “For The Moment.” At the beginning of “If I Tell You,” the listener can hear a phone sent immediately to voice mail. Talking to Exclu$ive when he came into the studio, he said this track spawned from a personal grievance with a friend who didn’t understand the amount of time and dedication that goes into making music, which makes hanging out with friends much harder. Yet, when Exclu$ive made an effort to hang out, the friend said that time had passed. This song perfectly embodies his emotion of frustration, with an aggressive tone and annoyance in the delivery of his bars. Bully Danny is a well-placed verse and snaps on the instrumental. The next song, “You Know,” has Exclu$ive gliding on the beat like he’s floating on a cloud of emotions after he found his perfect companion. The chimes-waterfall effect symbolizes stomach butterflies when one first feels love. He borrows a cadence from Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me” and does it tastefully to give a sense of nostalgia instead of just ripping it off. Singing the chorus was executed beautifully, and he perfectly captures the feeling of young love. The closing song of this EP is “From The Bottom.” The theme of capturing emotions in the moment continues on this track and focuses on confidence. The upbeat tempo gives a surge of energy to feel ready for whatever life throws at you. Exclu$ive has great wordplay that shines on this track by delivering it with a point behind the microphone. His confidence is justified as he has started from the bottom and continues to climb through the ranks to make a name for himself. In Exclu$ive fashion, he still slips some Spanish into the end of his verse. Overall, “For The Moment” is a well-done EP worth spinning. Make sure you message Exclu$ive on social media to let him know what you think about the project!
