By definition, aesthetics means “a set of principles concerned with the nature and appreciation of beauty, especially in art.” Johnny Franchino’s “A E T H E T I X” fills those principles with his fun and energetic songs by combining HipHop lyricism and electric house instrumentals, or HipHouse. Throughout the EP, there’s a story of a man who meets a woman and wants to spend just one night with her. However, his connection to her grows into something more on their wild adventure. This EP fits in the club, at an all-night beach party, or wherever the energy is needed. Although it is only four tracks, it pulls the listener in from the first one and blends the transitions so well that it’s hard to determine one track’s end and the next track’s start. One influence that came to mind when playing “Aesthetix” was Kid Cudi. It was nice to turn up the volume, kick back, and get lost in his music.
